A Game Boy–style horror story

 Julian is 9 years old. And something is wrong.

His best friend Sally, who lives just across the street, hasn’t come outside in days. The last time Julian saw her, her father was furious. She was in big trouble. And now… nothing. No sign of her. No sound. No light from her window. Just silence.

 Then, one night…

Julian falls asleep. The room grows cold.
The door of his wardrobe creaks open.
And from the shadows… something steps out.

A ghost.

The ghost asks Julian a simple question:

“Do you want to play pretend?”

At first, Julian refuses. But when the ghost says they can use pretend magic to check on Sally, Julian agrees—on one condition: they must find out if she’s okay.

What begins as a child’s game slowly twists into something much darker. The rules start to change. The ghost wants to keep playing. And the line between pretend and real begins to blur…
